We're thrilled to announce that both the Lodge and our Restaurant will be open this coming weekend, starting Friday, May 21, 2021 for the 'May Two-Four' Victoria Day #holiday weekend. We can't wait to see you all again! More details below.
The Lodge & Cottages
After consulting many sources, including government and industry bodies, it has been determined that lodges such as ours are permitted to open. The onus is left up to the Guests as to whether or not to travel outside their health district. We, however, are allowed to accommodate Guests as normal, as long as all pandemic protocols are being observed, which they certainly are here at our #Lodge. As stated on the noto.ca website: "If you do choose to operate your business regularly during this time, individuals will need to be from the same household in each cabin/cottage and you will need to comply with the regulations established for lodges." Be sure to look over our regular Policies before booking.
We're still in the process of getting the Lodge and grounds ready, as we were delayed by a cold spring season thus far, and an absolutely massive leaf clean-up. But in the coming days and weeks you can expect to see a bunch of upgrades, flowers blooming, new aggregate poured, grass seeded and fed, etc. We have some of our fleet of twelve 16ft aluminum #fishing boats all set and in the water, and will gradually get the rest out closer to when they are reserved. And as always, our Pontoon #boat is available to rent for those that have a full boating license.
We plan (and have begun) to raise the Lodge to new heights over time, along with the cottages. All at a pace that is planned and prudent. We're eager to welcome our first batch of Guests this weekend, and we're sure they are looking forward to some rustic relaxation, fishing and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. It's simple when it comes to The West Arm Lodge and Restaurant: getting away from it all is closer than you think.
Be sure to read over our latest COVID updates HERE. And for any common questions about staying at the Lodge and our cottages, please have a look at our FAQ right over HERE.
The Restaurant
We're also very excited to reopen our #Restaurant this Friday night. As per current guidelines, we will be open only for #takeout at this time, although we are offering room service to our Guests; order ahead of time, and we'll bring your meals and beverages directly to your cottage! Our liquor license also allows room service of a selection of our beer, wine, coolers and of course soft drinks.
There are some exciting changes, additions and enhancements to Chef Matt's Menu, so be sure to have a look! We're celebrating the return of our Pasta and Breakfast selections, as well as adding some tasty new Wraps, including Chicken Caesar, Buffalo Chicken and Philly Cheese Steak. All Wraps include our new Warmed Kettle Chips (wait 'til you try them!), or of course you can upgrade to fries or a salad.
The capability to successfully run the Restaurant, with no dine-in available, is going to heavily rely on demand and capacity. We have a tentative plan for our hours, but want to caution everyone that this is not set in stone, and will, in all likelihood, change in the coming weeks/months out of practicality and necessity. Unforeseen challenges, from labour to supplies, to anything else that can pop up out of nowhere can drastically alter the best laid plans. For now, here's the current schedule, starting this Friday night with Pizza, Past and Salad night:
Breakfast:
Sat. and Sun. from 8am to 10:30am
(Breakfast Menu Only)
Lunch:
Mon., Thurs., Fri., Sat. and Sun.
from 11:30am - 2:00pm
(Regular Lunch & Dinner Menu - No Pizzas)
Dinner:
Mon., Thurs., Sat. and Sun.
from 4:30pm - 8:00pm
(Regular Lunch & Dinner Menu - No Pizzas)
Friday Pizza Night!
from 4:30pm - 8pm
(Pizza, Pasta and Salads only)
Closed: Tues. and Weds.
As we get asked this question many times, boat-in takeout is available, but docking is very limited and our registered Guests come first. So any docking is on a first-come-first-served basis. There are no docking fees if a full meal is ordered from the Restaurant for takeout, but you must depart the shared facility immediately after picking up your order; for the moment it is against all protocols to remain on the property to eat your food.
Guests are allowed to eat in their cottages or outside in the immediate vicinity of their cottage, as long as distancing is observed. Masks must be worn by all entering the Lodge to pick up their orders, and anytime where close contact with our Guests is a possibility, including when walking to and from the docks or parking lot. There is no exception to this rule at the moment. If you cannot wear a mask because of health issues, please have someone else come to pick up your order.
Overall, we're very excited to greet our first guests of the season, and are overjoyed at the overall very high booking rate the Lodge has experienced thus far. We're almost booked out for July and August, with only a few openings left for you last minute travellers (as of this writing). Best chance to get the cottage and dates you want is in early to mid-June, so don't wait any longer! We hope everyone has stayed safe and is in good health, and that we get to see many of our friends returning this summer. See you soon!
